Aliyu Abubakar , Ayewande Alaba Win 3rd National Archery Tourney..Seal Tickets To West- Central African Championship In Benin-Rep.

Aliyu Abubakar recorded most points on target on Friday to emerge as Nigeria's men's champion ahead of Seun Emmanuel and Itua Edwin who finished in the second and third positions respectively, at the just concluded 3rd National Archery Championship In Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital

Also in the women's final of the competition held at the Cricket Pavilion of the MKO Abiola International Stadium in Abeokuta, Ayewande Alaba won with the highest points on target, beating both Stella Aguodu and Bernice Nwamodoh to the second and third positions respectively

The duo of Seun Emmanuel and Stella Aguodu who finished as first runners-up in their individual events, however bounced back to clinch the top spot in the mixed double's event ahead of the second placed Itua Edwin/Bernice Nwamodoh  and third placed Clifford Omoghiboria /Ayewande Alaba 

General Secretary and Technical Director of the Nigeria Archery Federation, Olatunji Olugbenga says,  the top three archers in the individual men's and women's events at the tournament will be representing Nigeria at the 2022 Tizocatha (West and Central African) Archery Championship holding in neighbouring Benin-Republic between September 7 and 12  

In the Men's Bear Bow event, Lateef Sanusi beat Lawal Sunday and Odesanya John to the second and third positions while Folake Kosebinu emerged as champion in the women's category, defeating second placed Imole Onabiyi and third placed Gloria Ogunmuyiwa
