Ogun Counçil Bye Poll ; Saheed Ali Wins Joga/Iboro Ward




Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGISIEC) has declared , Hon. Saheed Ali as the  winner of the bye election.into the Joga/Ibooro Ward 5 councillorship seat in Yewa North Local Government Area  

Hon. Saheed Ali according to OGIEC,  pulled a total number  of 1,749 majority votes in the bye election witnessed by a massive turnout of voters across the eight polling units under the Ward. 

The bye election was conducted in 
line with the Ogun State Electoral Law, to elect another Councilor to complete the tenure of former Councilor, Hon. Sunday Ogundele who died recently

Monitoring the process, Political party chieftains in the area, including the State Commissioner for Housing, Jagunmolu Akande Omoniyi, APC Chairman, Mr. Adekunle Adeosun, the Council boss, Mr. Oluwole Ogunyomi, among others, commended OGSIEC for a well organised exercise, saying the orderliness at various polling units showed the Commission's level of preparedness towards a hitch-free election.

Omoniyi, while noting that the exercise was peaceful and fair, appreciated the people in the area for casting their votes, assuring that, efforts are in top gear to mobilising people to get their Permanent Voter’s Card for the 2023 General Elections, 

According to him, the window of opportunity is still open for prospective voters  to register and for those who  changed locations they have the opportunity to transfer their registration to new locations.

Also speaking, the Awujako of Ijako, Oba (Revd.) Matthew Ewedairo lauded the Commission for conducting a free and fair election, adding that voting materials were sufficient with high turnout of voters.

In his remark, the newly elected Councilor, Hon. Ali appreciated the people for the confidence reposed in him, promising to do his best to ensure development in the area.
