NPFL : Remo Stars, Kwara Utd In Final Battle For Continental Ticket As Dakkada Stun Enyimba In Aba





Remo Stars of Ikenne-Remo and Kwara United of Ilorin are set for a final battle in the last match of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) for a ticket in the next season's Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) clubs competition 

The Skye Blue Stars with 59points  moved closer to clinching the continental ticket after Ojo scored the only goal against host, Sunshine Stars of Akure in the 59th minute, to secure the needed vital win in a week 37 match played on Sunday

The Gbenga Ogunbote tutored side must win their last match in the topflight league next week Sunday at the Remo Stars Stadium against Niger Tornadoes of Minna to book a place in the CAF clubs competition, come next season

Also Kwara United of Ilorin with 58points are in close chase for the continental ticket, after 3-0 thrashing of the already relegated Mountain of Fire and Miracles MFM of Lagos who are currently at the bottom of the league with 36points 

The Ilorin Afonja Warriors must also win their last match against host, Heartland of Owerri who also need the vital win to escape being relegated to the second tier, Nigeria National League NNL

The Naze Millionaire are currently in the 18th position with 44points after losing 2-1 to host, Niger Tornadoes of Minna in the week 37match 

Fifth placed Enugu Rangers with 53points and sixth placed Enyimba International of Aba with 52points,  lost the battle for the continental ticket after both sides suffered losses in their respective matches

Enyimba were stunned 2-0 at home by relegation threatened Dakkada United of Uyo who are now in the 17th position with 46points, following the vital away win 

Enugu Rangers on the other hand, lost by a lone-goal to host, Gombe United while Nasarawa United of Lafia beat visitors,Kano Pillars by the same margin, to eventually relegate the Kano based side who are in the 19th position with 42 points, four points behind 17th placed Dakkada United 

Already crowned Champions, Rivers United of Port Harcourt with 74points lost narrowly 3-2 to home team, Shooting Stars in Ibadan while Katsina United recorded a 2-0 win against visiting Plateau United of Jos who had equally secured second position with 64points which earned them the second ticket for the CAF Champions League's next season

Lobi Stars of Makurdi managed to beat Wikki Tourists of Bauchi 3-2 while both Akwa United of Uyo and Abia Warriors settled for a two-all draw
