Six Nigerian Pupils Shine At International Fine Art Competition

 

 


Six students have made Nigeria proud at  an International Children Festival of Arts Competition held in Poland.

 The students are:  Momooreoluwa Akinloye (6) from Maryland Catholic Nursery & Pry School, Ogbomoso, Jane Ezisi (9), Nuator Wiwa Titilope (15) and Chinenye Ohiaeri (16) all from Queensland Academy, Lagos; Divine Okolo (14) from Christhill College, Lagos, and Kanyinsola Oyebanjo (10) from AOCOED International School, Lagos.

The competition with the theme — “Dreams Come True” was organized by the XXXI International Festival of Fine Arts Color Art under the auspices of the Polish National Commission for UNESCO. 

According to Mr Tunji Olu Akinloye, the local jury  representative " over 1,600 children artworks from over 25 countries were submitted for the competition. 

After the juries’ assessments, the artworks of the six Nigerian students were selected as part of the best and winning submissions.

Mr Akinloye in a statement further disclosed that " the post-exhibition and prize-giving and award presentation  ceremony will be held for  all the winners on 3rd May 2022 at the Municipal and County Public Library in Goleniów, Poland.

According to Mr Akinloye, 
" Peekok YouthARTS Initiatives (PYI), the institution that prepared the Nigerian students for this competition thanks all the Nigerian young artists that participated in the competition, and congratulate all the winners, their parents and teachers on their achievements. 

PYI, is an art institution incorporated in Nigeria in 2007, and  committed to promoting art education and visual arts among Nigerian children and youths  by working in cooperation with experts in the fields of art, culture and youth work. 

PYI is  also committed to  creating, implementing and enhancing artistic exposure, self discovery for  children and youths and  art education in every part of Nigeria and globally.
