Ogun State Government, Science and Technical Colleges are now offering short term vocational training programmes for elderly willing to acquire skills or upgrade themselves
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Technical Education, Prof. Joseph Odemuyiwa who disclosed this in Abeokuta to newsmen, said the present administration was not paying lip service to skill acquisition of its citizens.
The Technical Education boss reiterated government's resolve to provide enabling environment for artisans, craftsmen and technicians across the State to provide services and make maximum profit
He added that both young and old should be acquitted with new trend in acquiring vocational skills.
Prof. Odemuyiwa advised parents to encourage their wards to learn at least a trade in a modern way in addition to their academic certificates, in order not to be dependent on white collar jobs.
