UNILORIN Expels 400 Level Student For Beating Lecturer




Salaudeen Waliu Aanuoluwa , the 400 level student of the Department of Microbiology, Faculty of Life Sciences, University of Ilorin who beat his female lecturer, has been expelled by the university

The university expelled Aanuoluwa  after finding him guilty of beating into coma,  Mrs  Rahmat Zakariyau, a Lecturer in the same department for  declining to grant him a request to skip the mandatory Students Industrial Working Experience (SIWES) 

Director of Corporate Affairs of the university, Mr. Kunle Akogun in a statement, announced the expulsion of the student, as handed down by the Student Disciplinary Committee when Salaudeen was arraigned on Monday.

According to the statement, “the student has 48 days to appeal against the verdict to the Vice-Chancellor in case he feels dissatisfied with the decision". 

A letter by the school to Salaudeen through the Registrar,  reads, “You will recall that you appeared before the Student Disciplinary Committee (SDC) to defend yourself in respect of an allegation of misconduct leveled against you.

“After due consideration of all evidences before it, the Committee was convinced beyond any reasonable doubt that the allegation of misconduct has been established against you. It has accordingly recommended to the Vice-Chancellor, who in exercise of the power conferred on him, has directed that you Salaudeen, Waliu Aanuoluwa be expelled from the University.

Salaudeen has since been handed over to the police for further necessary action.
