Top Artists Showcase Films, Documentaries At YABATECH's Green Leaves Exhibition

Nigeria's top Creative Artists including Stanley Ohikhuare, Brian Olaolu Wilson, Sanwo of the Revolving Art Incubator, Jelili Atiku, Olushola Otori, Adolphus Okpara, Yusuf Durodola, Kunle Ogunfuyi, Ayo Akinwande, Aderemi Adegbite of the Iwaya community, Bolaji Alausa and Taiwo Aiyedogbon entertained lovers of films , documentaries and other visual arts works with displayed of their beautiful works at the Green Leaves Exhibition which began last Monday  at the Art Museum  in Yaba College of Technology, Lagos    

Other exhibitors at the film screening and multimedia exhibition titled: Green leaves  are Bolatito Ibitoye, Julius Agbaje and a consortium of collaboration of learners and facilitators from the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design Israel, the School of Art, Institute of Chicago, U.S.A, University of Portsmouth UK, University of Tsukulx, Japan, Izmir University, Turkey, Santa Rosa Junior College, U.S.A, and Yaba College of Technology, Nigeria.

The exhibition featured the screaming of films and documentaries relating to youth development vis-à-vis sexual harassment and gender based violence.

The artists in the course of their creative career have used diverse technical and conceptual approaches to their creative interests and cultural development advocacy.

The Yaba Art Museum is a project supported by Ford Foundation.The exhibition which was declared open by the Rector, Engr. Obafemi Omokungbe ably represented by the Deputy Rector Academics, Dr. Titilayo Ukabam explored technologies apparatus, and methodologies in media that played creative expression to critical issues at the crux.

The green leaves exhibition with social justice theme will no doubt stimulate genuine interaction between the academic community and visitors; it will likewise create networking connections for a prospective and enduring collaboration.

The exhibition according to the organizers ,will also create a mixer space for learners and creative practitioners on the prospects of multimedia practice and its functionality for social justice advocacy in contemporary society.

Guests at the opening ceremony which includes Ms. Ngaire Blankenberg and Gatho Kamen of the Smithsonian Institution, staff and students were taken on a guided tour of the museum by Dr. Odun Orimolade the museum’s curator and the HOD of Fine Art Dr. M.A Balogun to view the presentations being exhibited.
