Ogun Housing Projects To Gulp N5.5BN in 2022



A sum of N5.5billion is being considered by the Ogun State Ministry of Housing for completion of the existing projects and provision of more affordable housing units for the people in the coming 2022 fiscal year                   

 The State  Commissioner for Housing, Jagunmolu Akande Omoniyi disclosed this at the Obas’ complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta during the Treasury Board meeting on Year 2022-2024 Medium Term Expenditure Framework in preparation for the 2022 budget.

The Commissione explained that the Ministry intended to spend N1.9bn on capital projects while N353m would be used for recurrent expenditure on staff salaries and allowances

He added that N88m would be expended on housing projects, proposing to generate N637m as Internally Generated Revenue for the coming year.

Omoniyi noted that the government would continue to provide affordable housing in phases, in order to accommodate and satisfy subscribers, saying the quality and standard of the structure and facilities provided in the first phase had encouraged people to key into the second phase.

The Commissioner highlighted some of the projects that would be embarked upon by the Ministry next year to include; completion of Sagamu and Ilaro affordable housing estates, as well as the construction of affordable housing in Iperu-Remo.
