Ogun PDP Mourns Olurin, Says His Death A Big Loss To Nigeria



Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State has expressed sadness over the death of its 2011 governorship candidate, Brigadier General Adetunji Olurin (retired)who died on Friday  after a brief illness at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital at the age of 77

The State Chairman of the party, Dr. Sikirulah Ogundele in a condolence message on Saturday in Abeokuta, described the death of Olurin as a big loss to PDP as well as the state and Nigeria as a whole considering his contributions as former military administrator in Oyo State, Field Commander of West Africa's ECOMOG Peace Keeping Force between 1992 and 1993 during the civil war in Liberia before his retirement from service in 1993  and later a sole administrator in Ekiti State between October 8, 2006 and April 27, 2007


PDP condoled the family of the late politician at Ilaro in Ogun West Senatorial District of the State saying, Olurin will be greatly missed for his fatherly role and committment to ensuring unity in the party ,the state and the country at large 

Ogundele urged the family to take solace in God that the Late Olurin lived a full filed live worthy of emulation by all Nigerians,to build a stronger nation devoid of any tribal sentiment
