Ogun Customary Court of Appeal Needs Fund For Rehabilitation of Court- CR



Ogun State Customary Court of Appeal has called for release of funds by the State Government, to enable it rehabilitate its court buildings across the state

Chief Registrar of the court, Mrs.Titi Bello made the call in Abeokuta recently during a mid-year appraisal of the 2021 budget performance by the State House of Assembly Committee on Justice, Ethics and Public Petition led by Hon.Solomon Osho 

She revealed that nothing was released for capital projects out of the approved N100million for the financial year as at June ending

The Customary Court of Appeal 's Chief Registrar stressed the need for release of the needed funds, to do re-roofing of most of the Customary courts across the state 

Bello also called for an increase in the courts' over head expenditure from the N183.6million, to enable the courts achieve its set objectives of dispensing justice without delay in line with the provision of the law 

She however said the all the Customary courts in the state were given facelift, despite the paucity of fund

Her words," We have achieved below average from what had been available to Ogun State Customary Court of Appeal in terms of funds. Despite the paucity of fund, Ogun State Customary Court of Appeal in the last six months has been able bring justice closer to the people and all customary courts across the state were given a face lift"

The courts generated just N249,050 out of the N40million projected revenue for the year
