Ogun Baptist Demands Return OF Its Missionary Schools

Ogun State Baptist Conference has asked the State Government to return all mission schools belonging to it.

The affected schools are Baptist Boys High School, Saje and Baptist Girls College, Idi-aba, both in Abeokuta, the state capital.

Others include Baptist Boys High Schools located, Ilaro in Yewa axis and Ogbogbo in Ijebu-Ode axis of the state.

President of the  Conference, Reverend (Dr).Oyewale Oyeniyi who made the call at a news briefing to herald the 44th edition of Ogun state Baptist Conference-in-session in Abeokuta, called on Governor Dapo Abiodun to fulfil the age long promise of returning the missionary schools to its rightful owners.

The Conference President explains that the immediate past Amosun’s administration had promised to allow the missionaries to take control of the schools upon completion of model schools in the state.

He adds that Baptist is one of the missionaries whose schools were taken over by the state government to cope with the congestion in its schools.

According to him, Baptist is capable of running the administration of the schools and better reposition them, to improve on their current situation.

Oyeniyi, however, says the return of Baptist Missionary schools will further deepen the prevailing religious harmony and peaceful coexistence in the state.
