Ogun Assembly Seeks More Funds For Public Service Transformation





Ogun State House of Assembly has stressed the need to invest more on the Public Service Transformation Office, to strategically position it towards addressing challenges of the 21st century public service.

The Chairman, House Committee on Establishments and Public Service Matters, Hon. Modupe Mujota made the call while leading other members of the Committee to appraise the budget performance of the Office of Head of Service, Civil Service Commission, Public Service Transformation Office and Bureau of Establishments and Training, Service Matters, as well as State Pensions.

Mujota said it was important to invest more in the public service to further position it for effective and efficient service delivery, saying “it is high time the entire service be digitised”.

The Chairman, alongside members including Honourables Oludaisi Elemide, Abayomi Fasuwa, Musefiu Lamidi, Kemi Oduwole and Sikiratu Ajibola encouraged accountants in charge of finance and accounts in Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to always update their financial records and avoid posting of figures under inappropriate economic codes.

The Honourables advised MDAs to synergise with relevant agencies in charge of capacity building with a view to harnessing potentials in the service to achieve maximum productivity.

Also the Committee on House of Assembly Services chaired by Hon. Bolanle Ajayi also appraised the budget performances of the State House of Assembly and the Assembly Service Commission, urging them to continue to dedicate themselves, towards achieving higher productivity for the benefit of the people.
