NNL:Crown End Gateway's Promotion Target, Win 2-1 In Ogbomoso

Crown Football Club of Ogbomoso in Oyo State, ended the winning streak of Gateway FC and promotion campaign of the Ogun State Government owned team, after a 2-1 win in a crucial week 23 match of the second tier Nigeria National League NNL

Fabode Olaitan's header off a corner puts the hosts ahead in the 32nd minute of the encounter played on Wednesday at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology LAUTECH Sports Complex in Ogbomoso.

Taiye Yusuf converted  Abawula Anthony's long throw for the needed  equalizer in the 45th minute before halftime but the centre referee to the amazement of the visitors, disallowed the goal claiming Crown's defender was pushed

Gateway United came back into the game, when Okechukwu Promise capitalized on a loose ball in the 61st minute after Crown goalie Chizoba fails to claw Seyi Okeowo's freekick, to make it a goal-piece

Again  Fabode Olaitan was on target as he grabbed a brace in the 65th to restore Crown's lead

The defeat dashed the promotion hope of Gateway FC, as they go into their last match against Joy Cometh, playing for pride with 35 points, five clear points behind Bendel Insurance of Benin and Remo Stars of Ikenne-Remo with 40points each at the top of the table in Group B2 of the second tier league

Gateway had won its last three matches against One Rocket FC, Apex Krane and Julius Atete before losing to Crown who are still trailing from behind with 34points
