Kayode Lawal, Oluwaseun Win Gen.Adeoye/Hephzibah Shooting Tourney

Nigeria's number three rated pistol shooter, Kayode Lawal has emerged champion of the 2021 edition of General Lons Dele Adeoye (rtd)/Hephzibah Akorede Oguntayo Shooting Championship 

Lawal defeated the country's cadet number one rated pistol shooter Ayomide Oyegbade while Amos Kayode Odusanya, the reigning number one pistol shooter in Nigeria finished in the third position at the tournament organized by the Ogun State Shooting Association over the weekend at the Alake Sports Complex Ijeja in Abeokuta, the state capital

In the riffle contest, Oluwaseun Abraham Faleye clinched the top spot, beating Ikimot Akinrole to the second position while Olaoluwa Oduntan came third 

Chairman of the State Shooting Association, Hon.Akinola Akinremi Akinbitan presenting trouphies  to the winners, assured the shooters of the association's continous support to ensure good outing and dominance of the State at the forthcoming National Youths Game in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital

He lauded the State Government for the support given so far to the shooters, particularly in the area of logistics while promising the shooters a new lease of life to continue to improve on their skills

Akinola who is highly impressed with the performances of the shooters at the competition, expressed confidence that they would do well at the youth game 

Also speaking,Chief Coach of the State's Shooting team, Idris Oguntayo was full of joy for the standard exhibited by shooters at the championship

"I'm very impressed with their performance at this tournament, it is a sign of better performance at the youth game. We really appreciate the support of the immediate past president of the Nigeria Shooting Federation, Gen.Adeoye", he added

Oguntayo expressed confidence that the state with its top rated shooters in the country, would improve on the previous outing in the 2019 National Youth Game where the emerged top in shooting with two gold and one bronze
