Judicial Workers Present Fresh Proposal To Ogun Govt.,As Courts Remained Shut

The leadership of the striking judicial workers has presented a fresh proposal before the Ogun State Government for consideration, in a move to resolve the lingering crisis over the cut in their salaries which led to the ongoing strike that has paralysed activities in courts across the state in the past three weeks

Chairman of the State chapter of Judicial Staff Union of Nigeria JUSUN, Comrade Tajudeen Edun who revealed this to Edu-Biznews  in a telephone interview on Tuesday, said that the proposal as prepared by the union's National Secretariat was presented to the Secretary To The State Government,Mr.Tokubo Talabi who led government's negotiating team at the meeting which ended at 7:30pm on Monday, inside the office of the Head of Service at the  State Government Secretariat in Oke-mosan, Abeokuta

According to him,'"The State Government pleaded with members of the union to give it more time to study the proposal and fixed another meeting for this Tuesday which unfortunately is the same time fixed for the South West caucus meeting of the union in Osogbo, the Osun State Capital"

Edun who did not disclose the details of the fresh proposal to Edu-Biznews, assured that the union would return to the negotiating table with government on it return from the zonal meeting

He vowed that the union's leadership would not succumb  to any pressure  to call-off the ongoing strike, until government restore full payment of the judicial workers salaries from October, last year when government started cutting allowances and other entitlements by almost 50% 

Edu-Biznews recalled that both government and JUSUN had met four times including twice last week on August 23 and ,25 since the commencement of the Industrial action on the 11th of August
