Executive Chairman of the Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government, Hon. Musa Sheriff has charged newly inaugurated Councilors in the council area to see their success at the last poll as a call to service and means to contribute to the economic growth and development of the grassroots.
The Local Government Chairman gave this charge while inaugurating the eighth Legislative Council at the Local Government Legislative Chamber in Ota.
He stressed the need for harmonious working relationship between the executive and legislative arms in order to meet high expectations of the people and better their lives in the local government.
The LG boss admonished the newly inaugurated Councilors to work tirelessly to make appropriate Bye-Laws to improve standard of living, urging them to begin sitting as quickly as possible for the betterment of the entire residents.
Responding, the Leader of the House, Hon. Mrs. Bukonla Balogun promised that the Legislative arm of the Local Government would do the needful to support the executive arm and accord it all the necessary assistance to facilitate development in the local government.
She enjoined the Councilors to buckle-up in order to meet the people's aspirations, adding that the tasks ahead require dedication and commitment to ensure quality service delivery.
The occasion also witnessed election of the key officers of the legislature, with Hon. Mrs. Bukonla Balogun emerging as the Leader of the House, while Hon. Yakubu Kamal emerged as the Deputy Leader, Hon. Ibirinde Ganiu as the Majority Leader and Hon. (Mrs.) Olaegbe Amidat, the Chief Whip
