Ogun Eases Permit For TELECOM Operators

Ogun State Government has assured prospective providers of Telecommunication Services of getting their provisional permit within 7 to 14 days, after submission of  applications for approval, to commence work on site pending the time they get other documents ready.

The State Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Tpl. Tunji Odunlami made this known in Abeokuta, during a meeting with representatives from Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) and other major operators in the telecommunication industry in the State.

While pointing out that the provisional permit is issued to prospective investors pending the completion of necessary requirements for proper planning permit to be obtained, Tpl. Odunlami explained that provisional approval would allow investors to begin work on sites.

He admonished investors to ensure Personal Income Tax of consultant handling their projects was submitted alongside the application documents for approval processing, affirming that delay does not come from the government but failure of investors/developers to perfect their documents.

Speaking on behalf of the Association of License Telecommunication Service Providers of Nigeria, Mr. Tochukwu Okafor appreciated the Ministry for the effort put in place at ensuring that provisional approval was issued for operation to kick-off the project, while other documents are being processed for final approval.
