Fresh crisis seems to be brewing in Ogun State chapter of the Inter Party Advisory Council of Nigeria IPAC, as the chairman of the council, Asiwaju Adedamola Adesina tongue lashed the State Chairman of Labour Party LP, Comrade Abayomi Arabambi, describing him as an imposter for also laying claim to be the chairman of the association
Arabambi was seen and officially addressed as IPAC State Chairman last Monday, during the inauguration of the state's 20 newly elected Chairmen of the local council areas by Governor Dapo Abiodun at Arcade Ground in Oke-mosan, Abeokuta
But Adesina on Thursday, insists that he is still the chairman of IPAC in the state while speaking with newsmen from the sideline of a formal presentation of Certificates of Return to elected 236 councillors by the State Independent Electoral Commission OGSIEC in Oke-Ilewo Ibara,Abeokuta
He described Arabambi as political jobber who should not be seen as a serious politician in the state
Speaking on the fallout of the last Saturday councils'poll in the state, Adesina says some of the opposition political parties who are aggrieved may head to court over the conduct of the excercise by OGSIEC
He however said IPAC was working on finding political solution to their aggrieviances saying it will be difficult to stop any of them from going to court to challenge the outcome of the poll
Adedamola added that the electoral agency tried its best but there were still shortcomings in the conduct of the elections which should be addressed
He blamed the voters apathy during the excercise on lack of trust in the administration of local governments in the country
The IPAC boss stressed the need for financial and administrative autonomy to the local governments as approved in the amended 1999 constitution, so as to restore the trust of the people at the grassroots
