Governor Dapo Abiodun has assured residents in Abeokuta of additional developmental projects, to make it a more befitting Ogun State Capital
Abiodun addressing large crowd of the All Progressive Congress (APC) supporters during the party's mega rally on Thursday, in front of Ake Palace Ground in Abeokuta South and Ori-Omi,Sokori in Abeokuta North Local Government Areas ahead of the councils'poll on Saturday, says the ongoing roads and other developmental projects in the city being executed by his administration is just an icing on the cake for the people
Abeokuta according to him, deserves more roads and other infrastructural projects given its political relevant to his emergence as governor of the state at the 2019 poll
The governor who revealed that 72 projects already done in the area in the last two years,promised to fix Iporo-Ake/ Oke-Ejigbo Road presently at complete state of disrepair
He assured them that more roads would be given attention based on available financial resources to the government
His words,"We are not promising to do everything but we will endeavour to do our best, every single promise we made we will keep, this is promise keeping administration"
"I will not disappoint you because you stood by me and for the party,even in the face of intimidation and harassment by the power that be then, Abeokuta South Local Government Area is a major determinant of who ever becomes the governor of Ogun State and APC won the two state Constituencies in this Local Government convincely", Abiodun recalled
The governor later recieved defectors from Majiyagbe group in the People's Democratic Party PDP whom he claimed are numbering 501 into APC, assuring them of equal rights and privileges of old members
Abiodun at Ori-Omi Sokori in Abeokuta North Local Government Area, also welcome former member of the State House of Assembly, Hon.Olayiwola Ojodu, a loyalist of former governor, Ibikunle Amosun into mainstream APC
The governor who reassured people of completion of inherited projects with economic values, disclosed that over 200 kilometres had completed in addition 83 projects in the area
Also speaking, Senior Special Assistant on Waste Management, Popoola Adesina in a chat with newsmen said voting for APC candidates at the councils'poll would complement Abiodun's administration effort at grassroots
On the issue of waste management, he said various reform introduced by Abiodun's administration is making the state cleaner than before
