NFF Disciplinary Committee Meet This Thursday,To Decide Fate Of Pillars,Remo Stars, Others




The Disciplinary Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) this Thursday, to decide pending cases involving Kano Pillars against Akwa United in the top flight, Nigeria Professional Football League and week  week 27 match and Remo Stars and Bendel Insurance in the second tier Nigeria National League amongst others

The Pillars and Remo Stars may likely face music of paying the heavy fine and other forms of punishment from the committee who had been mandated by the NFF at its last Monday's emergency meeting, to weigh its big stick against any of the defaulting clubs who clearly breached the COVID-19 protocols and other safety guidelines 

The Emergency Committee of NFF had approved all the recommendations of the Organizing Committee and resolved that there must henceforth be zero
tolerance for breaches of the extant rules including COVID-19
protocols, by Clubs or Match officials.

 Following briefing from the NFF Secretariat on the status of cases
pending before the NFF Disciplinary Committee, the Emergency Committee
directed the Secretariat to ensure the NFF Disciplinary Committee sits
promptly to deliberate on and dispose of all cases by Thursday, 17th
June 2021 at the latest.

The cases include the NPFL match, FC
IfeanyiUbah Vs MFM FC; the NNL match, Remo Stars Vs Bendel Insurance
FC and; NNL match, Zamfara United Vs Malumfashi United, among others.

In Kaduna, Pillars' fans was reported to have invaded the pitch and attacked officials and players of Akwa United in the encounter which ended one-all as well as Remo Stars whose fans was said to have attacked officials and players of the visiting Bendel Insurance of Benin in the second tier Nigeria National League NNL

Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State who visited the injured players and officials of Insurance FC at a hospital has threatened to withdraw Insurance FC from the league, if the NFF disciplinary fails to sanction Remo Stars

 On the status of AITEO Federation Cup 2021, the NFF Organizing Committee   directed prompt submission of representatives of various States for
the National Competition by State FAs, 

The Emergency Committee
directed the Organizing Committee and the Secretariat to ensure that
in organizing the National Competition, there is total compliance with
the CAF directives, regarding the submission of Nigeria’s
representatives for next season’s continental competitions.
