Ogun Facilitates Over N6M Land Compensation For Indigenes




Ogun State Government has facilitated payment of over N6.5million as compensation to Indigenes whose lands were acquired for construction of a company in Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of the state

The Special Adviser to the Governor/Director-General, Bureau of Lands and Survey, Mr. Aina Salami, assured Indigenes of the state that the Prince Dapo Abiodun's administration  would continue to ensure that no indigene, whose land was acquired for developmental purposes was short-changed, as the government would ensure that such people are adequately and properly compensated.

Salami gave the assurance in Abeokuta, while presenting cheques of N6,511,700.00 to owners of some hectares of land in Odofin-Oke village in Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area acquired for Ganic Feeds Limited.

The Special Adviser, represented by the Senior Special Assistant (Valuation), Dr. Afeez Alabi indicated that the payment of the compensation was one of critical aspects of land administration, emphasising that the Prince Dapo Abiodun led-government would not leave any stone unturned to ensure that due compensation was paid promptly.

He expressed optimism that the payment would enhance development and improve standard of living of the citizens, noting that presence of investors in the area would further create employment opportunities.

On his part, representative of Ganic Feed Limited, Mr. Bukola Adelabu, who explained that the gratuitous and crop compensation was a demonstration of the company’s concern for the welfare of the people whose lands were acquired for development.

He appreciated government for its support, describing it as a working relationship to advance the host community and the State at large.

Responding on behalf of other recipients, Pastor Stephen Iyeli commended the State government for its effort at ensuring prompt payment of compensation, promising that they would use the fund judiciously.
