The Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC) has asked political parties participating in the July 24 Local Government elections in the State, to contact the Commission for the collection of Personal Data Forms for their Candidates.
Chairman of the Commission, Mr. Babatunde Osibodu who announced this during an internal appraisal of preparation at the OGSIEC office in Oke-ilewo, Abeokuta,disclosed that collection of the Personal Data Forms also known as Forms CF 001 and CF 002 had commenced and expected to end on Friday, 28th May, 2021.
He says though the information has been in the public domain, there was the need to further remind political parties and guide them along in every step taken by the electoral agency
Osibodu enjoined them to comply with the guidelines and time-table for the excercise.
His words,"We don't want to give room for misinformation, hence, our continuous media engagement and collaborations. Though the political parties are well informed about this, I however consider it imperative to reiterate that we have commenced the distribution of Personal Data Forms for Candidates by political parties from Wednesday, 12th May which is expected to end on Friday, 28th May, 2021".
" I urge the political parties to be on the same page with us, we are also being proactive and ensuring that things are done by the prescription of the law. We will continue to echo this in the ears of the political parties", Osibodu said.
He said submission of the Personal Data Forms for Candidates will be from Thursday, 13th May to 1st June, 2021, emphasising that the need to keep intimating political parties with the guidelines and timetable cannot be overemphasized.
