Governor Dapo Abiodun has vowed to deal decively with anyone found guilty of selling adulterated gas products or violating safety protocols in Ogun State
Abiodun reactiing to the series of recent gas explosion in Abeokuta, including the one on Thursday at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) complex and similar incident on Wednesday at the Conference Hotel, which claimed seven lives,warned that the full weight of the law would be visited on such person caught in the act
The Governor who issued the warning in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary Kunle Somorin said he had consulted with Federal authorities to find a solution to the recent incidents
He assured that no stone would be left unturned to stop such development.
Abiodun also directed law enforcement agencies and environmental and safety personnel to move round all the nooks and crannies of the state to investigate and bring to book those found culpable of any sharp practices or negligence that could have caused the gas explosions.
He also threatened to prosecute business owners against violating safety protocols guiding the location of businesses in residential areas
The Governor on behalf of the State government commiserated with families of the victims of the recent gas explosions in Abeokuta the State capital, warning against adulteration of the product.
Meanwhile the State Government has summoned a stakeholders’ meeting to discuss the development.
The stakeholders' meeting is part of the measures being taken to find a lasting solution to the problem, will have in attendance dealers, cylinder manufacturers and retailers in that sector.
